  Paris & Garrison,

Your dad made me laugh, made me cry, made me angry, and made me happy. He gave me lessons in honesty, integrity, patience, and wisdom. He gave me all of this and paid me
a salary at the same time. How will you touch others? Many of us can't wait to see. God Bless.

I first met Edwin when I joined the Aveda network sometime in the late 80s. When I think of Edwin, love and knowledge both come to mind. He loved life, loved the people he surrounded himself with and loved to share and empower knowledge in others. I've been personally enriched by knowing and learning from Edwin and really miss knowing he is on earth with the rest of us. I'll never forget being with Edwin and the rest of our group when Edwin made it possible for all of us to learn from Dr. W. Edwards Deming- knowledge that changed my path. AND Debra...I'll never forget all of the fun we all used to have amusing ourselves out at the Aveda Spa after hours, unwinding after long meetings.
I'll always have the knowledge that comes from Edwin with me. Thanks for the opportunity to share.
Damn...score one for heaven, God took a good one!
Love to all,

Edwin Neill's impact on our industry would be impossible to quantify. Not only was his passion and caring for excellence an inspiration to me, but his powerful presence and quiet grace will indeed be missed. I feel so fortunate to have been able to learn from his example. Thank you Edwin, for never forgetting that business was about people first.

Through his kindness, wisdom and generosity, Edwin contributed greatly to making me the person I am today. Helping me make it to London to further my education, giving me a job, (or showing me how to get the job I wanted), when I needed to make a career change, and introducing me to the amazing Horst are jut a few of the things he did for me.
Debra told me he exhibited the most patience she had seen the time he drove me around New Orleans for hours searching for my car after a crazy Mardi Gras night.
I believe the best thing for me about this amazing man was that I knew he was always there if I needed him.
My prayers and thoughts are with Debra and his children. I know the void created by the loss of such a powerful force in their lives is great. May the God of all comfort hold you in His arms and give you peace.

Edwin was many things to me during my lifetime. For many years, he was just my uncle Smokey. Then, he transitioned himself into his true self, Edwin Neill master of all he surveyed. In our relationship Edwin played many roles; uncle, advisor, friend, adversary (not really but it seemed as such), employer, mentor. But most of all I always knew the love he had for me. That was never in question. I had only recently returned to the Neill Corporation prior to Edwin's death. He had shared with me his many dreams. Dreams for the company, dreams for this family, dreams for me. That last one is the hardest of all. I lost one of my greatest supporters when Edwin was taken from us.
Edwin, I miss you! I love you! I will give myself over totally to making you proud! I will fulfill my potential! You deserve it, I deserve it, my wife and kids deserve it. Thank you for all that you are, have been, and will be to my life. I love you.

Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife. The first question was, "Did you bring joy?" The second was, "Did you find joy?" I think for Edwin his answer to both of these questions would be without a doubt "YES!"

In 1970 I was a 23 year old looking for a job. Edwin hired me and for the next nine years I worked and learned how to sale under the Master. I left Neill Corp., in 1979. Today I own a decently successful synthetic oil marketing firm headquartered in Shreveport, La. I have a beautiful family and market my product all over the world. This would not have been possible without Edwin Neill. I'll miss him greatly. Sincerely, Mike Gandy / 7401 University Dr. / Shreveport, La. 71105 / 318-797-3330

One of my favorite memories of Edwin was when he gave me a 100 dollar bill if I would shave my beard before a Neill Corporation event. It sounds funny, I know, but it exemplifies the pride he took in his company and in his employees. He truly cared for and nurtured every person in the company, from the packers at the distribution center to the salon owners half-way across the country. He and the entire Neill family helped me to learn so many valuable lessons that I continue to use to this day. I was deeply saddened when Petr called me and gave me the news of Edwin's passing. My sympathy goes out to Debra and the kids, Ross, Stern, and the rest of the family.

Edwin is with our Lord Jesus now, laughing and living life to the fullest as he always did...

God bless you, Edwin.

Dear Debra, Edwin, Ross, and rest of the family,

I am so sorry to just have heard the sad news. I will remember you all in my prayers and hope that your sorrow will soon be replaced by joyful memories especially as you remember the huge contribution Edwin has made not just to your families but to the community as well. Edwin, Ross, Garrison and Paris you are the children I remember from my days as an employee for Neill Corp. I am glad to have had the opportunity to be a part of Neill Corp. and to have met you Edwin and Ross, I could tell your father was proud of whom you both have become. As for Garrison and Paris you were young children then, running in and out of the office just carefree and happy. I'm sure you know that your father was extremely proud of you. As someone who lost my father as a young adult I know the grief never really leaves but is often a catalyst to you to continue to make your father proud. Debra, I will pray that you find strength to hold your family together and that you will soon find peace.

The last time I spoke with Edwin was back in 2002 it was a brief conversation about an old desk, he was truly glad to heard from an old employee and it reminded me that he was truly in a league of his own as a leader and visionary. He will be missed.

God bless the entire family,

To Debra and the Neill Family,
I met Edwin at one of the first Neill Quality College sessions. He inspired me to approach business and life in ways I had never done before. I had many chances to touch base with him at industry events and he was always willing to give of his time. His memory will live on through all those he touched. The industry is a better place because of him. Best regards. Phil Horvath
